Japanese Soy Sauce Marinated Beef

Soy sauce is the perfect base for marinade for the deep flavors that lends itself to many proteins. This is a simple recipe from Yamasa brand that we carry at Tensuke Market.

Japanese Style “Roast” Beef by Yamasa USA


Ingredients

  • 400-500g (1Lb) Beef

  • 1 ½ teaspoons Salt

  • a pinch Pepper

  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

  • Watercress (garnish)

  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil

  • 50ml (approx. 2.5 tablespoons) REGULAR SOY SAUCE

  • 3 tablespoons Vinegar

  • 1 stalk Celery (minced)

  • ½ pcs Onion (minced)

  • ½ clove Garlic (grated)

Instructions

  1. Place beef in room temperature for 30 minutes. Rub salt and pepper into all sides of the beef, cover with plastic wrap, and leave for another 15 minutes.

  2. Heat vegetable oil (2 tablespoons) in a frying pan over medium-high heat, and brown all sides of beef of Instruction-1 for 3 minutes respectively.

  3. Place the beef on aluminum foil, and wrap it tightly. Leave it for 30 minutes.

  4. Heat vegetable oil (1 teaspoon) in a frying pan over medium heat to make a sauce. Lightly stir-fry the vegetables in A, and add “REGULAR SOY SAUCE”. Once boiled, add vinegar and turn down the heat.

  5. Cut the beef in Instruction-2, 3-5mm wide, and dish up with watercress. Dress with the sauce in Instrution-3.
